IQ to percentile chart
Convert any IQ score to a percentile, and understand what the percentile actually tells you.
A percentile tells you what share of people scored lower than you. An IQ of 115 is at the 84th percentile: you scored higher than about 84 out of 100 adults.
Because IQ scores follow a normal distribution with a mean of 100 and a standard deviation of 15, converting between the two is exact.

“1 in…” is how many people you’d need to meet to find one who scores at or above that level.
Percentiles stretch at the top
Going from 100 to 115 moves you 34 percentiles. Going from 130 to 145 moves you just over 2. So small differences near the top of the scale are hard for any short test to measure. Tests with too few hard questions can’t tell a 135 from a 150, which is why high scores always come with wide ranges.
